Mosgiel Brass is situated on the sunny Taieri Plains in Mosgiel, just a 15 minute drive from Dunedin.  Our newly refurbished bandroom is situated on Church St, next to Brooklands Park.

A thriving community band of more than 30 players, Mosgiel Brass players range in age from 12 years to ’70 something’.  Our band members come from the Mosgiel and Dunedin area.  We welcome new players and supporters and we have transport available from Dunedin to Mosgiel on practice night. Come and join us!

We play in the C grade section of the New Zealand Brass Band Association and regularly compete in this grade in the Otago/Southland Provincial Contest and in the National Contest.

The band was first formed in 1872 as a military volunteers band and has existed under various names since this time.  A keen supporter of local events, the band regularly plays  in the community, contributing regularly to the Sunday programme at the Dunedin Botanic Gardens, entertaining rest home residents, ANZAC day, Parades, Fairs, Festivals, Concerts, Official Opening ceremonies and Church and Carol services.  If you’re interested in engaging our services at your event, contact us.
